Assessment before treatment
Losing weight can improve many aspects of long-term health, but there is no single approach that is right for everyone. The programme begins with a 45–60 minute face-to-face assessment of your weight, medical history, metabolic health, current medication, eating patterns and personal goals.
You will receive an individual Medical Weight Management Plan. Options can include nutrition and activity changes, support with related health conditions and, where clinically suitable, prescription treatment. The purpose of the service is medical assessment and ongoing care—not access to a particular medicine.
45–60 minutes with an individual plan.
Assessment, treatment planning or initiation, and two subsequent reviews.
30 minutes when booked separately.
20 minutes, typically every four weeks.
Monthly face-to-face review.
30-minute comprehensive health review.
Medication, pharmacy charges and investigations are additional. If investigations are needed before treatment, follow-up remains within the 12-week package. If you decide against medication at the initial appointment, only the £275 assessment is charged and the package balance is refunded.
Who may not be suitable?
Medication is not prescribed where BMI is below 25. Pregnancy, planned pregnancy, breastfeeding, an active eating disorder, unstable severe mental illness, substance dependence or treatment-specific contraindications may also make this programme unsuitable. Final suitability is always determined through individual medical assessment.
